We were watching episode 4 of the excellent BBC series, Tribal Wives, through the iPlayer the other day and noticed that Becky (I think her name was) in Papua New Guinea was seen to be removing stuff from a Virgin Atlantic Upper Class amenities bag. Does this mean that the TV license fee that most of you pay has been used to send the crew and other people we’ve never heard about before around the world in comfort? Do they travel business class for their other destinations? Or has Becky travelled Virgin previously and just bought the bag along for convenience?
Mmm.

Hi Martyn,
Its time the truth was out there
I doubt very much if she went Vigin upper class ! I was a tribal wife in the previous series and we travelled the cheapest and longest way with over 40 bags of camera equipment to load and unload btween three of us ! On the way back we even had to do an internal flight before flying on to a cheap connection in spain and then home . I personally having slept in a hammock for a month wanted to upgrade myself but there were no seats !! We travelled for over two days . We were also only paid a £1 for the month…just so you know
I doubt that will have changed much……
kind regards
bopo
hey there… a friend of mine just noticed this feed and sent it to me… I am miss TW2 PNG (nice to meet you series one TW) and its quite funny martyn that you should notice the Virgin bag as the irony is there but its nothing to do with tv license tax i assure you… the bag in fact belonged to my beautiful Island sister Barbara, which i myself did chuckle at when i first meet her as she has only left the island a couple of time by boat and only then to small neighboring islands and has not actually seen, nor set foot on, (she has defiantly not played with one of those cute salt and pepper pots that i hear are so cool on the virgin flights, ive never seen them myself either as i only fly economy, well apart from that one time i was a plus one for tuscany but thats fine as he was a trader and paid with own money…actually i may ask him to pinch me one when he next flys) .. where was i sorry.. oh yes barbars bag… no she has not been on a airplane let alone enjoyed the luxury gifts of first class… i must have been going into her bag for some reason (puzzel, I will watch back)..
in my next letter to Barbara tho i will be sure to ask where she got it from.. i should think it would be a donation to the church from charity shops from other countries as that is where most of their western clothing comes from (ok ok its time to come clean there was one m&s on the island too)..
… same as TW1 our travel was very modest and the longest (whcih i suspect to be the cheapest) route possible.. i sense the budget was very tight in deed which just goes to show the dedication of the production company to pull it off all six episodes.. which i have received many emails from views to say they enjoyed thoroughly.
be happy
