If there were any doubt why the Henson Muppets are infinitely better than the Disney Muppets, take a look at these two screen tests made in 1979 prior to The Muppet Movie being shot. In them, Jim Henson and Frank Oz as Kermit and Fozzy/Miss Piggy improvise around various locations in the English countryside.
There’s more charm, humour and wonderfulness in those 15 minutes then there are in 30 minutes of Disney’s The Muppets. We will not see the likes of this again.
