With the recent news that Guildford is to get its own Monopoly board, I received a most pleasant surprise on Saturday when I got back from running the usual errands.
My old bank sent me a cheque (in the low 3 digits) by way of a refund for mucking up their obligations under the CCA (Consumer Credit Act) when I had a loan with them. They’ve actually apologised (a bank apologising – whatever next?!) for the issue at hand. I had to do nothing to get this money. No compensation claim company. No solicitors. Makes a wonderful change from all the blasted PPI and “you may be entitled to this, that and whatever” letters that constantly blight my doormat.
