Left the house this morning only to discover..

.. that the lock on my front door had something jammed in it.  Initially I thought somebody had tried to put superglue in the lock mechanism, but thankfully I was able to scrape away whatever rubbish was in there with the key and turn the lock without too much difficulty.

I've no idea who might have done it, or whether it's just "a thing" (how?), but should I discover if it was deliberate and who it was, or if it happens again, the police are going to be called.   I'm also for the first time considering getting a Ring doorbell for security purposes (my neighbour directly opposite has one - so I may well ask them if they have any footage of anybody attempting to fiddle with my door).
